“HOW DOES THE INFORMATION EMPOWER YOUR OWN TEACHING SKILLS TO BECOME AN EFFECTIVE EFL/ ESL TEACHER?

As a beginning teacher, it is wonderful every day to learn a lot about how to be an excellent teacher because that is why we are studying to learn how to teach students of all ages; In English subject or in another specific subject but we need a base and a beginning for everything, just as each student has their first day of classes, teachers also have their first day of practice teaching and their first experience as a teacher in the field work; all requires a lot of effort and learning.馃憖

All of us who want to be teachers must not forget that communication inside and outside the classroom must be clear and firm, bearing in mind that kindness must always come first. We all deserve respect. In addition, in each information and class we have learned that it is important that, when communicating with students, the information we transmit is always in accordance with the age and abilities of each one of them, for example where we learn speaking activities. Likewise, it is important to know how to listen, paying full attention to what the student is transmitting, and not forgetting that we must implement listening activities.馃摃

In addition, as beginning teachers we have learned that planning is an effective tool that allows us to structure the content to be developed and the methodology during a certain period of time, in each teaching process in each class. However, to follow the needs and interests of our students, this planning must be flexible; It must be able to be modified and adapted to those needs and interests and always follow the lessons of assigned classes. Therefore, It is necessary that teachers know their students: what interests each one, what they think and what they need and learn the names of each one.馃槉

As future teachers, we must consider all the strategies that help us develop excellent performance in the classroom. From my point of view, all the strategies of "The First Days of Class" are essential since I have learned that everything we do in the classroom influences the lives of the learners. Also, I have learned that it is important to create a bond of respect and responsibility between students and teachers. On the other hand, maintaining professionalism in all situations is important because the teachers are the ones who control the classroom and create a suitable environment for everyone.

In addition, I have learned that the opinion of the students is as valuable as that of a teacher. Students have the right to be informed about everything the course needs to be developed, and they must express their needs so that the teacher can teach everyone without leaving anyone out of the class. Finally, I think the most important thing when developing a lesson is good communication between teachers and students since they need to be in an environment of trust and respect.

As a student, the information I learned from working throughout this semester is very important to me because they are tools that I did not know, for example, I did not know that before a class you had to check the facilities, I did not know that with Each student has to be patient because they understand in a different way, it is very incredible how following the rules to achieve a successful class can improve your skills as a teacher.

Currently, I have learned that as a teacher we always have to be prepared for any emergency, my mentality has changed a lot, I have improved my skills, and above all, my knowledge will help me better professionally. It is always important to remember the strategies I learned, activities such as learning games, and how to entertain a student with a complicated subject, this subject changed my perspective of a teacher.

This information has empowered my own teaching skill to become an effective EFL/ESL teacher talking about the first day of class, talking about setting course expectations and standards and also talking about creating a positive classroom environment as all these stuff is looked as things without sense for many years but here we realize about their importance in the students and in their learning process. Imagine that in their first day of class your attitude is rough and they feel you as you do not pay attention to their needs, there is a probability that they take an attitude of indifference with you. They will be away of you as their first reaction or their first memory with you is awful, so a manner of responding that the students will feel unwelcome in your classroom. When you prepare a class and you put dynamic activities, your students will realize about the effort put preparing the class. But how they can realize about it if it is their first class with you. A manner that I found is that we have to create a positive classroom environment where they feel safe and sound since the very beginning. Ice breakers are good to deal with the anxious of the first class. Meeting new people is hard for someone of us but after reading the different strategies I started to think that it is not so hard to have a good environment.

After skimming and analyzing the information on the first day of class, I gathered knowledge on how to improve my skills by applying the different tips and strategies developed. Building a strong foundation for learning is an essential aspect of effective teaching, especially when it comes to EFL/ESL instruction. The first day of class sets the tone for the rest of the course and provides an opportunity to establish expectations, build rapport with students, and create a positive learning environment. As an EFL/ESL teacher, it is crucial to take advantage of this opportunity by carefully planning and executing the first lesson.

This information has helped me a lot because I was not aware of how important the first day of class is. This information has been also not only to inform but also to advise us as new teachers on the things we may do in order to have a successful first day and the rest of the course.

Now, I know the things that I have to do on the first day of class and even before the first day of class. What I like the most and what empowers me to become a great teacher is creating a positive environment in the classroom. I think it's not an easy thing but is the part that I like the most because during this semester I have been little issues making good relationships with my students since I am a little shy. Haven read this information, I have some ideas and steps to follow to improve that issue, and this information is related to the first day of class, but this information may be applied even if it is not the first day.

The information has helped me boost my skills as a teacher since I consider all the suggestions that will help me improve my training process as a future teacher. Furthermore, I realized that before teaching a class, you must make sure you have complied with general strategies that sometimes we take for granted but that can affect the development of the class, such as creating an excellent connection with the students in the first days of class as this will create a sense of community in the classroom.

Therefore, creating a pleasant environment contributes significantly to the students' good development in the subject since they want an approachable teacher who gives them the confidence to show their skills in class. In addition, I now know that I must make an excellent first impression on the students, and these suggestions will help me to be prepared to effectively do my job as an ESL teacher and deal with any inconveniences I may have while teaching.
